Addicted to Smoothies

If there’s one thing I love for breakfast, particularly in the summer, it’s smoothies! I mean come on, they’re fast & easy, delicious, nutritious, and you can change it up every single day!

I’m pretty sure I’ve had a smoothie 6 out of 7 days a week for the last 2 months. There is NOTHING better than using fresh, local fruit in your smoothies, and hey, why not throw some veggies in there too! I put spinach in every single smoothie I make and I promise you really can’t taste it.

There is an unlimited number of ways to change up your smoothie, including using different fruits (& veggies!), milks/juices/water, protein/extras, etc, etc, etc! The list is never ending.. but here are a few recipes of my all time favourite smoothies!

Peanut butter heaven:
1 banana (preferably ripe, I like to freeze mine for extra cold/thick smoothies)
1 large handful of spinach (think like 2 cups worth)
1 scoop vanilla protein power (I use whey)
1 tablespoon of wheat bran
1/4 cup of plain greek yogurt
almond milk until desired consistency (I use approx. 1 cup)

Strawberry, mango goodness:
1 banana (preferably ripe, I like to freeze mine for extra cold/thick smoothies)
4-5 medium sized strawberries (fresh, local strawberries…mmm)
1/4 cup of frozen mango diced
1 large handful of spinach (think like 2 cups worth)
1 scoop vanilla protein power (I use whey)
1 tablespoon of wheat bran
1 tablespoon of honey greek yogurt
3 tablespoons of plain greek yogurt
cold, filtered water until desired consistency

Strawberry, pineapple bliss:
1 banana (preferably ripe, I like to freeze mine for extra cold/thick smoothies)
4-5 medium sized strawberries (fresh, local strawberries…mmm)
1/4 cup of frozen pineapple chunks
1 large handful of spinach (think like 2 cups worth)
1 scoop vanilla protein power (I use whey)
1 tablespoon of wheat bran
1 tablespoon of honey greek yogurt
3 tablespoons of plain greek yogurt
cold, filtered water until desired consistency

As you can see, my recipes don’t change by that many ingredients, but the flavour change is phenomenal! I make all my smoothies single serve in my Ninja, which I have to say is one of my favourite & most used small appliances I own!

Let me know if you try any of these and what you think!
