Fresh Strawberries & Cinnamon French Toast
Blog Food Local

That locally grown food though..

So at the beginning of the summer I said to myself “make sure you take photos of all your Crampton’s Market hauls so you can write this fabulous blog post at the end of summer…” well yeah, that didn’t happen. Whoops!! Well it happened one time, right near the beginning (even though it was like my third trip there).

I am that fanatic that once the farmers markets and Crampton’s open that I literally don’t want to shop anywhere else! I cannot express how much I love supporting local and eating REAL food!! Don’t get me wrong, there is a time and place for all our favourite “junk foods” but I truly love eating fresh Manitoba Strawberries, or Crampton’s in house made cinnamon bread (ugh I’m drooling on my computer now!! lol) and now FRED corn.. YUM!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Crampton’s Market, I’m telling you STOP reading this and GO NOW!! When I first discovered Crampton’s, I really liked it but wasn’t as ecstatic about it as I am now.  Maybe it’s because I’m getting older.. but we’re just going to say because I’ve gotten a lot smarter since graduating university.. yeah, that’s it! Crampton’s is only open from May until the beginning of October and it really is the tell tale sign in Winnipeg that it’s summer if Crampton’s is open.

If you are a fan of supporting local and eating delicious, fresh food then you definitely need to check out Crampton’s Market or your local farmers market because in my opinion, aside from the weather it is the absolute best thing about summer!

PS this post was in no way sponsored by Crampton’s Market, I truly just love that place and think it deserves a shoutout all the time! 🙂

Local Fresh Food

Tell me, what’s your favourite thing to get from your local farmers market or Crampton’s?? I’d have to say mine is all the fresh fruit, strawberries, cherries, peaches and plums!
